I read through a mumbo-jumbo publication (not Blueprint) recently and accredited to Chief Francis Omoko (Ph.D), under the PDP stakeholder’s forum. I went through it again and again before I was able to put up this piece. Several things went through my mind. Firstly, in my secondary school days, I remembered when we were always faced with “Parse-the-words” in our English Language classes… Then I said this would not be the Chief Francis Omoko I used to know. Could it be an imposter?
Secondly, a PDP stalwart coming to ask questions that are inordinate precipitated my doubt about his loyalty as he was hammering and hovering on loyalty shows lack of substance and human psychology with the principle of credibility and coherence in the party he claims he belongs.
Thirdly, he went ahead mentioning names of our highly placed and esteemed leaders in Delta state whether they have been consulted, invariably branding them naive. This made me believe he has lost the grip of his mind from his mouth. I almost made it lie low, but I remembered what my father used to tell us, “That when a child crawls to cast stone on you, and tells you de-de, you too should crawl and cast that stone back at him and tell him de-de because you do not know what he means by de-de.” Also, especially as communication should be symbiotic. Thus, following his “Reap what you sow.”
From his rhetoric, please permit me to tell him that Sir Anthony Obuh was a Permanent Secretary and not a Personnel Secretary. He is a product that does not need much advert to thrive well in the political market and cannot spend time in the shelf before being bought unlike others.
The choice by the governor for a replacement is sacred and impalpable in this context, because he is the one that wears the shoe and knows where it pinches. And that it was in a church Thanks Giving Service, remains the best choice or place. If it was not in the church where else did you expect it to be? Please hope you do not belong to the “eye-six” political arm that wants to plunge Nigeria into darkness overnight; who never sees anything good in our God’s given ruling political party. Let us be frank, has Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan not done very well enough in his eight years in office, is he not qualified to know who to hand over to? Remember he is one of the best governors in Nigeria who has sailed through turbulent waters, contrary winds and dangerous political climate and was able to weather the storm and came out spotless. Please excuse me; he needs an accolade jo! Permit me to ask this question, why is it that some people do not appreciate their God’s given leaders. There are very few of them like Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, while others are rulers who do not want smooth transition; they are those players outside the pitch who always play better than the best eleven with their tongues who never scored any goal since their primary school days till date; they are those bad followers who want to be good leaders overnight remembering again that you said “Reap what you sow.”
Please, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has piloted the affairs of Delta state wisely for the past eight years and was once an S.S.G for about four years. He knows Delta and Deltans both civil servants and politicians as well. He knows them in and out, back and front, up and down, left, right and center. He knows the Servants and the Spoilers, he knows the Pretenders and the Proficient, he knows the Predators and the preys, he knows the Valuables and the Vulnerable, he knows the Beatitudes and the Multitudes, the Disciples and the Apostles. He has the Delta Blue Print that he has been nurturing that he does not want to be subverted or obliterated. Therefore, he knows who can make your dreams work and manifest into reality. That is why he does not want to make costly mistakes of the others. A civil servant who after his National Youth Service Corps (N.Y.S.C) went through another leadership tutelage for 35 years after his university years, must have been a guru and a czar in administering people before being a Permanent Secretary. Perhaps, people like you would have still kicked against that merit. Please, he is the premus-inter-pare and the governor knows what he is doing. He remains the best choice for the people rather than the green horns that metamorphose into mechanized money bags over night being flamboyant crowd renters whose aim is to have Delta state as a commodity in their demonic political shelves and the government house as their front page ready to deal.
May God heal our cataracts in this country.
