Okpebholo writes Edo assembly, seeks supplementary budget

The Edo state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has written to the state House of Assembly, requesting a supplementary budget.

Clerk of the House, Alhaji Yahaya Omoigba, read the letter personally signed by the governor at plenary on Wednesday.

Omoigba informed the lawmakers that the letter requested for the revision of the 2024 supplementary budget earlier revised by the immediate past governor of the state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

Speaker Blessing Agbebaku thereafter referred the governor’s request to the House Standing Committee on Appropriation.

The speaker gave the committee one week to submit its report to the House for consideration and approval.

In a related development, the assembly also confirmed Hon. Samson Osagie as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo state.

The House however deferred the consideration of the other nominee, Dr Cyril Oshiomhole to Monday, November 18, 2024.
