The Edo state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has recalled the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Samson Osagie.
Osagie was suspended on February 5, 2025 over allegations bordering on financial embezzlement.
His recall was contained in a letter dated March 12, 2025 by the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Umar Ikhilor, Esq.
The letter read in parts: “Having considered the report of the Investigative Panel set up by Government to investigate allegations of financial infractions reported against you.
“The report has exonerated you (Samson Osagie) from the said allegations.
“I write to convey the directive of the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo that you resume duties as the State Hon.Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice with effect from 12th March, 2025.”
Reacting to the development, Osagie commended the governor for his frankness and expressed his committed to join him to ensure that Edo State recovered all lost grounds.
He added that the governor’s sincerity of purpose and vision for the State, is a clear indication that he meant well for the people.
