Ohimege Opanda advocates peace, unity in Egbiraland

The Ohimege Opanda of Egbura land in Nasarawa state, HRH Usman Abdullahi, has called for peaceful coexistence amongst the citizens of the state, particularly the Egbira people.

The first class monarch made the call, Wednesday, at his palace in Umaisha, Toto LGA when his people paid him a Sallah homage.

The royal father tasked his people to practice peaceful and harmonious relations among the divergent ethic and religious groups in the state, considering its impact in the societal development.

The monarch equally charged them on the need to be security conscious while embracing farming, fishing and trading that they are known for.

The Ohimege Opanda appreciated the pragmatic effort of Governor Abdullahi Sule and the Nigeria Army for curtailing killings around the Toto area.

He spoke on the tireless efforts of the governor and the Nigeria Army in bringing the situation to its barest minimum.

On his part, the immediate past speaker of Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, specifically went down memory lane on the longtime efforts of leaders to ensure sustain peace and unity in Toto LGA.

He stressed that some people were bent ensuring that the area dues not enjoy peace.

He, therefore, emphasised the need to keep politics out of the situation, especially that it involves lives of the people so that the needful be done.
