Ogun new CP Alamutu resumes duty, reads riot act to criminals

The newly deployed Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, CP Abiodun Alamutu Wednesday resumed duties at the state headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Speaking with newsmen, Alamutu warned all criminal elements to steer clear of the state, saying “the state will no longer be a safe haven” for them under his watch.

He however advised land grabbers, cultists and other criminal elements to either quit, or look for another job, adding that “their game is over”.

“I have been part of the system for long periods of time. Sincerely, those who are behind all these issues (land grabbing), they are not more than five to ten in the state.

“The moment I settle down, I will summon all of them and let them understand that the game is over. I know their tricks and it will not work while I am here.

“It is actually a challenge in the state. People pass through unnecessary stress because of the abuse, the tricks they play around. By God’s Grace, we are going to handle it. I will first have an engagement with them and advise them to go and look for another job.

“While I am here… They know me, I know them and I know their tricks. So, we will sort it by God’s Grace.”

He therefore implored officers and men of the command to respect the rights of the citizens while carrying out their duties in the state.
