Ogun: Guardian inflicts razor blade injury on minor for stealing N600

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has ordered investigation into an alleged assault on a 10-year- old boy, Olasunkanmi Oluwadamilara, by his guardian. 

Olasunkanmi, a student of Dunamis private school in the Araromi area of Obada-Oko area of Ewekoro local government, was accompanied to the CP office by a delegation from the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools with a deep cut on his hand. 

The Ogun command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, in a statement made available to newsmen stated that the suspect has since been arrested, and he is making concessionary statements. 

“On January 13, 2025, at about 11:00 am, a delegation from the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Obada Oko, led by coordinator, Olagbegi Moses, came to the station with 10-year-old Olasunkanmi Oluwadamilara, a student at Dinamis Private School in the Araromi area of Obada oko, who had serious cuts on his hands. 

“When questioned, Olasunkanmi revealed that his guardian, Odeale Fatimah “f” from the housing area of Obada oko, had caused his injuries. 

“She was arrested and admitted to using a razor blade to inflict the wounds as punishment for allegedly stealing N600 to purchase ice cream for his friends. 

“The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided,” the statement reads.
