Ododo presents N582bn budget to Kogi House of Assembly 

The Kogi state governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, Tuesday, presented over N582 billion for 2025 budget to the State House of Assembly for approval.

Presenting the budget  tagged: “Budget of Inclusive Development” Governor Ododo said it was proposed to ensure reforms that will address the challenges  in all sectors of the state’s economy.

The governor who expressed optimism that all the leaders will work together to end the ongoing crisis around the world noted that his administration has developed 32-year development plan with the theme: “Shared hope and prosperity.”

Governor Ododo said the document is a comprehensive roadmap designed to transform Kogi state into a striving, inclusive and sustainable economy, assuring that his administration’s approach will continue to prioritise investments in youth empowerment, education, and infrastructure.

He said his administration will strive hard to complete every single project in each of the 21 local government areas of the state, adding that, “The administration aims to ensure transparency and inclusivity in governance and encourage citizens to take ownership of the budget process.” 

Earlier, the speaker, Kogi state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf, in his speech said under the leadership of the governor, the House has continued to fulfill its legislative mandate through meaningful deliberations and the enactment of laws aimed at improving the lives of the people.

“As we proceed with the process of passing the Appropriation Bill, I urge my honourable colleagues to approach this significant task with sense of duty and purpose,” he stated.
