The Director General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, weekend, charged corps members to abide by the rules, regulations and oath of allegiance they swore to, as well as the dictates of the NYSC bye-laws to avoid infractions in the course of the service year.
General Ahmed gave this charge in his address to the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members deployed to Jigawa state at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Fanisau, Dutse.
He added that they should endeavour to serve the country in a manner that will portray them as good ambassadors of their families, institutions of graduation, and the scheme.
In a press statement signed by the acting director of Information and Public Relations of the scheme, Caroline Embu, made available to Blueprint, the director general advised them to respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities and create harmonious relationships with members of their communities of service.
General Ahmed further enjoined the corps members to use their social media platforms responsibly by promoting positive and constructive content at all times.
In his camp situation report to the director general, the NYSC Jigawa state coordinator, Mr Dawut Jidda, said 1,434 corps members comprising of 774 males and 660 females were registered in camp.
In her camp brief, the Bauchi state coordinator, Mrs. Rifkatu Daniel, said a total of 1,468 corps members comprising 717 males and 751 females were registered.
