Delta state Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Adizua Jude Nwokobia, yesterday urged the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, to respect the judgment of Abuja High Court, which voided his position.
Nwokobia, who made this call in Asaba, capital of Delta state, during a meeting of principal officers of the party, appealed to Umeh to see reason and embrace the judgment.
The high court sitting in Abuja in its judgment had recognised Chief Maxi Okwu as the National Chairman of APGA.
He however said that Umeh should not see his present position as the end of his political career.
“The Chapter also observed that since elections are around the corner, it is better to be united by putting the house in order so that the party can move forward,” he said.
“It is true that Chief Umeh has done much in nurturing the party, therefore it also behooves on him to ensure that further factionalism of the party will not be the best.”
He said Umeh had offered his best and should allow others to contribute to the growth of the party.
“APGA is one united family and things should not be done to reflect he party into more crises and this must be the end of litigation,” he added.
