Obedience, one of the pillars of Christian marriage – Pastor

Pastor Patrick Awuru Ugbeikwu of Dunamis Church Kubwa has stressed the importance of obedience in the life of Christian marriage, noting that this is one of the pillars which has sustained marriage and made it different from others. He therefore called on Christian faithful to continue to abide by the tradition of the church as Christ thought us.

Ugbeikwu made the remark while delivery a sermon at the mass wedding ceremony at Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Headquarters, Garki in Abuja. Ugbeikwu, who stood in for Pastor (Dr.) Paul Enenche, enjoined all the couples to lead exemplary lives that would be pleasing to God and as witness to God’s presence in the marriages.

He urged the Dunamis faithful, especially Christians couples, to support the younger ones in the effort to grow in their faith. He warned those who cause confusion in marriages and reminded them of the biblical injunction which said, “What God has joined together no one should put asunder”.
Earlier at the reception of Mr. John Silas Ebube and Mrs. Joy Chikodi Ugwuegbulem, the couples were advised that husband and wife are like parallel line which can only be joined by love.

One of the pastors at the high table in his remark prayed and preached the gospel of tolerance to the couples as a veritable tool to sustain their love in marriage. He urged Christians to show love and obedience among themselves by avoiding idle talks capable of assassinating the character of others. He prayed God to bless John and Joy so that they would now share with each other the gifts of God’s love and become one in heart and mind as witness to Christ our Lord and Saviour.
