The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has raised the alarm over a letter in circulation from the Director-General purportedly granting a blanket leave to all corps members nationwide, commencing December 20, 2019 to January 6, 2020.
The management, in a statement signed by the director, press and public relations, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, Tuesday in Abuja, warned the public particularly corps employers that the letter did not emanate from Scheme and should be ignored.
She said: “This is to inform the public, particularly corps employers that a letter purported to have emanated from the NYSC Director – General, granting a blanket leave to all corps members nationwide, commencing 20th December, 2019 to 6th January, 2020 is fake.
“Accordingly, the poorly constructed letter, bearing the imprints of NYSC state secretariat, but purportedly signed by the scheme’s director – general should be disregarded.
“It is the handiwork of mischief makers. The corps has not issued such letter.”
