Lack of venue has halted the proceeding of the seven-man panel constituted by the out-going Adamawa state Acting Chief Judge ,Justice Ambrose Mammadi, to investigate Governor Murtala Nyako and deputy, Bala Ngillari, for alleged gross misconduct , even as the state traditional rulers were working around the clock to mediate.

Investigations yesterday revealed that the J& J Hotel Villa where the panel held its first inaugural sitting had sent the committee packing owing to insecurity problems.
Sources close to the hotel said since the panel started sitting there, due to heavy presence of armed security operatives of soldiers and police “customers were scared away.”
Clerk of the Adamawa state House of Assembly, who is negotiating for the venue of the panel’s sitting, was helpless as other hotels he visited equally turned down his request for the usage of their premises.

The panel, it was gathered, moved to the NLC Club, where the state chairman of the NLC tactically declined, claiming to be performing the lesser Hajj (Umrah) in Saudi Arabia.
The panel’s next port of call was the Adamawa state NUJ press centre, where there were divergent opinions from the leadership whether or not to give out the conference hall.
The division within the Adamawa NUJ leadership compelled them to call for an the emergency state executive council meeting where majority of the members kicked against the use of the NUJ for the panel sitting.

It was gathered that the clerk of the Assembly had earlier deposited N170, 000 for the venue which was later returned after the state executive council of the NUJ rejected the usage of the centre.
As at the time of filing this report the panel was yet to get another venue for its sitting as reports said the speaker, Mr Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, had hurriedly fled to Abuja, the nation’s capital, “for further instructions and consultations.”
