Nwifuru warns against breach of peace in Ebonyi crisis areas

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state Wednesday warned against breach of peace in the crisis areas in the zone.

This was as the Governor noted that his administration inherited pockets of crisis from the previous government and has taken proactive steps to see that peace is brokered in every part of the state.

He noted that his government would not spear anyone caught brewing trouble in the state.

“Our administration inherited pockets of crisis and conflicts in some of our communities. Most of these crisis have appeared intractable and defiled all solutions. However, we have come up with more tactical approach to ensure that peace returns to affected areas.

As a road map to achieving lasting peace, White papers have been issued in respect of Abaomege/lshinkwo Ohankwu/Amana and Effium/Ezza-Effium crisis to achieve peace, implementation committees have been set up to ensure strict implementation of the white paper and with the caliber of people in the committees we are confident that peace will soon return to the affected communities”.

He further added that in other to strengthen the insecurity apparatus in the state, his government inaugurated a joint taskforce comprising of security agencies.
“To complement existing structures in the state,I launched our SJTF which is comprised of people with mastery of geographical terrains,codenamed ljEOMA”.

Nwifuru also stated that in his peoples charter of Need mantra, he constructed some internal roads, empowered youths, equip the health sector and others.

The governor further said he spent the sum of 17.3 billion naira to do some remedial works in Chuba Okadigb’s airport.

“The remedial work at the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport Runway has been completed.A total sum of 17.3 billion Naira was spent, while Major repairs in the Terminal Building and Control Tower have commenced in earnest and in advanced stage. To this end, flight operations will commence fully at the airport in the next few days”.
