Various accreditation teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) who have been in IBB University for assessment and peer review of its academic programmes and learning facilities have expressed satisfaction with the level of world-class facilities provided at the Institution.
Chairman of the team to the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, Prof. Aminu Momoh, stated this after inspecting facilities at the weekend.
He said the experience of the exercise would be beneficial to both the Institution and stakeholders in the education industry.
He applauded the efforts of Niger state government for providing the necessary support to the University and called for a sustained effort so as to make the Institution envy of others.
Momoh, who also spoke for Science Education team, disclosed that though the exercise was a thorough one, the support and cooperation of the University Management and every staff were very overwhelming and appreciated the kind gesture.
He, however, said despite the impressive facilities and right calibre of human capital available in the University, the teams also made some positive observations that when implemented by the Management would go a long way in taking the Institution to higher pedestal of citadels of learning.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Nasir Maiturare, congratulated the teams for a successful exercise and thanked them for objective assessment of the programmes.
He said the assignment carried out by various NUC teams would no doubt add value to the growth and development of the University, and assured that the Management was determined to ensure that observations made would be looked into with a view to implementing them.
