NSCDC arrests 3 armoured cable vandals in Abuja

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT command yesterday said it has arrested three suspects who vandalised armoured cable belonging to Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
The suspects identified as Adam Teri, 36, Sani Musa, 25, and Israel Sati, 25, all hailed from Adamawa, Zamfara and Kaduna states, respectively.
The suspects have so far confessed to NSCDC of their offence, adding that they were trying to vandalise the underlaid armoured cable that ran from stadium gate through games village before they were caught.
Parading the suspects at the FCT command of NSCDC headquarters at Wuse Zone 5 yesterday, the Commandant, Mr. Patrick Ukpan said the victims were tracked by his intelligent squad and were arrested.
He called on Nigerians to always inform them to enable his gallant officers track down bad elements in the FCT.
According to the commandant, the suspects, after investigation would be charged to court for prosecution and called on youths to find better things to do instead of engaging in acts of vandalism of government properties.
Items recovered from them were two shovels, one digger, and armoured cable wires.
