NPL: Abia Warriors pip Kaduna Utd 2 – 0

Abia Warriors Football Club at the weekend hit Kaduna United FC by 2 – 0 in their first game in the Nigeria Premier league stage played in Umuahia.

The skipper, Chima Uluocha, opened the score in the middle of the first half of the game through a penalty kick, while the victory was sealed by Bishop in the dying minutes of the second half.
Speaking after the encounter, the chairman of Abia Warriors, Chief Emeka Inyama, described the winning as a happy season opener with a win, observing that his team was new to the Premier stage.
His boys, he said, are playing individual game for now, and expressed his optimism that the team would make their mark.

“At the Premier League, it is not easy. No team is an underdog here. We will take it from here”, he said, stating that after two or three matches, his team would do well.
The technical adviser, Ladan Bosso, said the team were on course towards making their mark in the Nigeria Premier League this season, stating that Nigerians should expect better results from the team,
