NPFL: Rivers United assures LMC on medical equipment/facilities

Rivers United FC have assured the League Management Company (LMC) of its compliance to medical prerequisites for ongoing matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)

Top officials of Rivers United FC on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, met with a match commissioner of the LMC to restate the club’s commitment in ensuring that the best possible medical facilities and equipment are made available to players before, during and after matches.

One of the two medical Doctors on the books of Rivers United FC, Dr. Vincent Wachukwu explained that Rivers United have always been one of the top clubs in the country in this regard.

“We have a well-equipped ambulance. This ambulance always is always equipped with Oxygen, suction machine, ambu bag, airway, stretcher, automated external defibrillator (AED), emergency drugs,etc,” Dr Wachukwu said to sportswriters in Port Harcourt

“The Red Cross personnel also arrive the venue of our matches with equipped ambulance.

“The medical crew includes two medical Doctors (Dr. Wachukwu and Dr. Chukwuemeka Agi), two nurses, two massuers, four Red Cross personnel and two other stretcher bearers.

“All medical equipment as required as in place,” he said.
