NPFL reschedules Akwa United vs Heartland tie

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has shifted the Akwa United versus Heartland FC Matchday 34 tie billed for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

The game will now be played on Monday June 3, 2024 as against the initial date fixed for Sunday June 2, 2024.

The league organisers in a circular signed by the NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi which was addressed to both clubs’ Chairman, Paul Bassey and Heartland’s General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu, stated that the Nigeria Football Federation and the Akwa Ibom State Government have given the nod for the stadium to be used on Sunday June 2 by William Troost Ekong Foundation for their Charity programme.

“Kindly be informed that the above Matchday 34 fixture Akwa United vs Heartland has been rearranged to Monday 3rd June, 2024 due to the approval of the Nigeria Football Federation and the Akwa Ibom State Government for the use of Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Sunday 2nd June in honour of Troost Ekong Foundation,” the circular read. 

“Please, ensure that all necessary logistics are put in place to ensure a hitch-free game.”
