NPFL: 3SC still hopeful of securing continental ticket – Chairman

Hon Olaniyan stated this while speaking at the Ramadan Iftar hosted by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Oyo state chapter held at the NUJ press center Iyaganku, Ibadan.

The 3SC vhairman emphasised that to achieve this, there is the need for fans of the team to continue to believe in the players and the 3SC management.

Stressing though results have not been coming for the team both home and away despite their preparation and state government’s support, he expressed optimism that the form of the team will change on Sunday at the Lekan Salami stadium Adamasingba when 3SC will be facing Niger Tornadoes in the matchday 30 fixture.

Hon Olaniyan then lauded the Oyo SWAN for coming up with such initiative of the breaking fast with the team, while calling for open conversations.

Speaking, the 3SC technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, said the team is always open to constructive criticism as it would make them better going into the remaining games of the season.

Chairman of SWAN in Oyo state chapter, Ayomiku Ajibola, represented by the Vice chairman of the association Gbenga Olugbodi disclosed that the aim of the breaking of fast was to use Ramadan season to bring sports stakeholders closer to 3SC and to also motivate the team in fighting for the vontinental ticket.

The Patron of Oyo SWAN, Mrs Romoke Ayinde, in her goodwill message tasked the 3SC players to always manage their health while discharging their duties for the club.

Chairman Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ Oyo state council, Chief Ademola Babalola, in his message promised to call the attention of Governor Seyi Makinde to the logistics challenges facing the team while prosecuting away games.
