The opposition party in Kogi state, All Progressive Congress (APC) has said that contrary to insinuation, there was no faction in the party in the state.
Interim Chairman of the party, Muhammed Mabo, who disclosed this at the weekend during the inauguration and election of principal officers of the local government Interim Committee of the party, said APC was one big family and “does not have faction, as being portrayed in the state”.
“We don’t have factions in APC Kogi state as we are one big family,” he said. “We will not hesitate to deal with anyone who attempt to foment trouble or create division within the party. Any aggrieved members should channel their grievances to the appropriate authority for necessary action.”
He said that APC’s mission in the state was to take over the leadership of the state from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and “save the state from bad governance”, assuring that APC would provide good governance, by providing projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
He added: “The interim officers, both at state and local government levels, are by no means translated into the officials of the party at the congress.
“It therefore means that anybody who has the aspiration to contest any position during congress should continue with the ambition, as the congress will be conducted free and fair, giving all members equal right opportunity and level playing ground to contest.”
