NNPP lauds INEC chair over stance on party’s flag, logo

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Wednesday commended the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, on his stance over the changing of flags and logo by some political parties.

“It remained unacceptable to the commission,”  Yakubu was quoted as saying.

Speaking to newsmen  at a press briefing in Abuja at the NNPP’s national headquarters, the national secretary of the party, Comrade Sunday Olaposi Oginni, said the attempt by the Kwankwaso group to tamper with the identity and logo of the NNPP was resisted, adding that it has become an exercise in futility.

The party’s scribe also refuted talks around merger, saying, “It is false.”

He reiterated that only the founder of the party, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, can determine that.

He expressed optimism that Nigeria will witness a new dawn under the guidance of NNPP.
