NNPCL partners Nasarawa govt on oil, gas development 

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Thursday said it will partner the Nasarawa state government in the area of oil and gas development.

Group Managing Director of NNPCL, Mele Kolo,  stated this during the second day of the Nasarawa Investment Summit, focusing on energy in Lafia.

Kolo said that the company is fully committed to work hand- in- hand with the government and people of Nasarawa state to unlock the full potentials of the state’s natural resources for the benefit of the state and the country at large.

The NNPCL GMD who was represented by the Executive Vice President, Gas and Power, Olalekan Oguleye, said the company is poised to partner the state in driving home its vision for economic prosperity and leverage on the limited capacity of gas.

Kolo appreciated the bold steps Nasarawa state government has aspired to building its economy in the area of solid minerals, agriculture and energy.

He noted that Nasarawa state is blessed with substantial natural gas reserve, available resources with a potential power industries, that would drive economic growth to improve the lives of its citizens.

“NNPCL relationship with the Nasarawa state and the people of Nasarawa state is deep and entrenched. This is not because Nasarawa state is endowed with abundant mineral and energy resources but because of the three specific presence: vision, effectiveness and sustainability.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for taking a harsh road to reach difficult decisions. According to him, it is clear that Nasarawa state has become a home for not just for mineral resources but also a home for agriculture and energy.
