NNL: Smart City, others get maiden awards

In the maiden edition of the Nigeria National League monthly awards in conjunction with ProStars, Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi, Smart City FC of Lagos, Sporting Supreme, Abia Comets of  Umuahia and Niger State Referees Council came tops in the awards.

The ProStar NNL Monthly Awards was held at the NNL Headquarters at the Glass House, Wuse Zone 7, Wednesday .

Henceforth according to the organizer, the award will be held at end of every month.

The award was for the month of December 2024.

Utum Godswill Solomon of Wikki Tourists emerged NNL Best Goalkeeper of Month for December for recording Clean Sheets in four matches while Mane Eberema was voted the league Most Valuable Player for winning the Man of The Match awards in two matches.

Same player, Mane, Sporting Supreme striker was adjudged the Highest Goal Scorer of the month of December for scoring four goals in four matches. 

Abia Comets Head Coach, Okechukwu Ejeh picked the NNL Best Coach of the Month for guiding his team to four unbeaten record while Smart City FC of Lagos won the Best Behaved Team for not receiving a caution in four games.

Aminu Mohamed, Niger State FA referee, was adjudged as the Best Referee for the month of December for proper interpretation of the law of the game.

Coach Agustine Eguavoen, former Nigeria’s international, Garba Lawal ,FCT FA secetary Haruna Ilerika presented the Awards to winners in a colourful and brief ceremony.

NNL Chief Operating Officer, Ayo Abdulrahman enjoined the awardees to continue working hard and be a good ambassador of the league.
