NNL: Happy hails officiating during Tornadoes vs Sokoto Utd clash in Minna


The Chief Coach of Sokoto United Football Club Garba Happy has hailed match officials that took charge of his team match day one encounter versus Niger Tornadoes in the Nigeria National League (NNL) decided late Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna.


Happy who spoke to Sports Journalists after the match noted that there were some lapses in the officiating but that it was normal because the officials were humans and are bound to make mistakes as well.
“It was a good game.  The Referee is almost 70 percent in the officiating, he is a human being and definitely some mistakes would come. But overall, it was good officiating,” said the Coach.


The Sokoto handler also commended the fighting spirit of his boys, saying they gave a good account of themselves.
“We have prepared and we have played. I can say we have a team. In a game you either win or you loose but I can say the boys have given good account of themselves, they have shown that they can do more than this”, Coach Happy said.
He noted that there was deficiency in his team attacking force, promising that they would work on it before their next game against Rarara Fc at in Sokoto.


A 42nd individual effort by Segun Alebiosu gave Niger Tornadoes the three maximum points in the encounter.
The Bako Kontagora memorial stadium was filled to its capacity during the encounter, with notable dignitaries including Niger State Football Association Chairman, Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, his Kaduna state counterpart, Shariff Al-kasim, as well as the Chairman of Niger Tornadoes Fc, Hon. Adamu Aliyu and other state FA board members.


Niger Tornadoes FC would play as guest to Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu, while Sokoto United would be home against Rarara Fc of Katsina, in match day two of the Nigeria second tier league.
