Nizamiye donates medical equipment to Sokoto hospital

The Nizamiye Hospital Abuja, in furtherance of its corporate social responsibility initiative, has donated an electrocardiography (ECG) machine to the Cardiology Department of Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital Sokoto. The hospital said this gesture is its modest contribution to the development of the health sector in Nigeria.

This was made known by the public relations officer of the hospital, Mohammed Abubakar, in a press statement.

“The management of the hospital realised the prevalence of heart rhythmic and vessel problems in the country and as a result of this saw the need to donate this machine to the Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital to aid the cardiology department in detecting heart conditions in patients.”

He further added that the gesture is part of the hospitals’ plan for contributing to the development of the health sector in Nigeria.

“As a hospital, we have plans to donate critical medical equipment to more public hospitals in the country as a way of giving back to society. This gesture is in line with our overall strategy of rendering not just medical services to Nigerians, but also contributing to the growth and development of the health sector in Nigeria.”

In response, the Chief Medical Director of the Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital, Dr. Anas Sabir, expressed gratitude to the management of Nizamiye Hospital for the gesture and promised to put the medical equipment to good use for the benefit of patients in the hospital.

“The importance of an ECG machine in any medical facility cannot be over-emphasised. We are grateful to the management of Nizamiye Hospital for this kind gesture, and we promise to put to good use this medical equipment for patients visiting our cardiology clinic,” he stated.
