President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod has tasked Northwest governors on deliberate investment in sports to end banditry and kidnapping taking place in the North.
Speaking on Monday when the Zonal Coordinator, Northwest zone, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris led management team on a visit to his office in Kaduna, Nimrod advised Northwest states governors to adopt sports as a means of ending insecurity in the zone.
“Today we are having crisis all over the country, sports can stop this. If we go to Zamfara, invest in sports, everywhere will be quiet. I am calling on my governors from the North West to invest in sports. It will end insecurity all over the state’s in the zone,” he added.
Nimrod, who is Chairman of Kaduna State Volleyball Federation, appreciated the North West Zonal office for its commitment towards developing sports at the grassroots.
“All these achievements we are making, it is not me, but the zonal office,” he said.
The Zonal Coordinator, in his remarks, told Engineer Nimrod that sports stakeholders in the zone have resolved to present an award to him for outstanding support to sports.
Those in the entourage of the Zonal Coordinator during the visit were, Gideon Malo (Stadium Manager) Blessing Aliu (Senior Sports Officer), Lawal Musa (Liaison Officer Zamfara), Mustapha Salisu Ahmed (Community Health Assistant) and Nafisat Usman (Adhoc Staff).
