Nigeria, market for French Smartphone makers to boost global sales

French smartphone manufacturer, Wiko Mobile has announced it was expanding to new markets in Africa, identifying Nigeria and Kenya as strategic entry points for September.
The phone maker is France’s second-largest selling smartphone after just three years, riding on the back of its delivery of style and quality at the best price, offering Android’s latest operating system KitKat 4.4 in its new range of phones.
Garcia says tech lovers in Africa will have the opportunity to discover Wiko’s innovative products that have been largely responsible for its success in Europe, as it seeks to boost sales with its Africa entry.
Although Wiko phones are made in China, Garcia said the heart of the group was in Europe.
“We are excited about entering our new markets like Nigeria, Kenya and Poland,…and are confident of repeating our success story in these markets,” said David Garcia, Wiko’s head of international development.
Wiko will have Samsung, Apple and Tecno, Blackberry to compete with in what is been tipped as the next top smartphone destination.
