Nigeria ‘ll not be disgraced in Tokyo –Kida

The president of Nigeria Basketball Federation president, Engr. Musa, Kida has assured that the country’s basketball teams to the Tokyo Olympic games, D’Tiger and D’Tigress will not be disgraced at the competition.

Speaking with journalists during an interview, Kida revealed lofty plans by his NBBF led board to ensure the country gets a good and deserving representation that Nigerians will be proud of.

According to the NBBF boss, “every team in the world wants to play Nigeria. Playing any of our team is used as a yardstick to measure team’s strength.

“This is good and we welcome the challenge. But we can don’t want to be carried away by the euphoria of being the most sort after team at the moment.

“Therefore, we will be having different short camping exercises in the US just like the one that just ended by the female team to avail the players the opportunity to play together and prosecute friendly games before the competition proper.

“But above all, we ensure that at all times any team that represents Nigeria at any competition is the best at that particular moment. This is the reason we don’t have ripples or squabbles after invitation or decampment of players,” he said.
