Nigeria has no hope without PDP — Obi

The former Governor of Anambra State  and vice Presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on 2019 general election, Mr Peter Obi, has lamented over the insecurity and economic hardship bedevilling the country, insisting that PDP remains the only hope.

Obi, who was speaking at 8th Stakeholders meeting of the People’s Democratic Party Anambra State chapter held in Awka on Saturday under the theme, repositioning for Power and Good governance, added that he was ready to do everything legally possible to save Nigeria from the current situation.

According to him, the PDP and her Presidential candidate at the last election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, would surely rescue the country from her various challenges on assumption of power.

PDP is currently at court, challenging the Independent National Election (INEC) declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressive Congress (APC) as winner of the February 23 presidential poll.

Also speaking at the stakeholders meeting attended by de creme la creme of the party in Anambra state, the 2017 governorship candidate of PDP in the state, Sir Oseloka Obaze, asked the federal government to stop compartmentalising National insecurity as “Nigerians were worried over the rising insecurity”.

“Nigerians are extremely worried over rising insecurity. No where is safe. There must be improvement in rallying local intelligence for use by our security agencies.  As Nigerians, we must eschew divisive rhetoric and the federal government must avoid sectionalizing and compartmentalizing security threats, challenges and solutions. What we urgently require is a bi-partisan but proactive tackling of our security challenges. The government should urgently convene a non-partisan Security Summit,” Obaze maintained.

On his part, the Anambra State chairman of PDP, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, while commending stakeholders of the party for delivering their candidates at 2019 general elections, advised them to keep working in peace and harmony with a view to defeating the state ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), which he said had failed Anambra people.

PDP in a communiqué reached at the  end of the stakeholders meeting, reposed their confidence on the state working committee, national working committee, elected National and state house of assembly members, as well as pledged support to “restoration of Atiku/Obi Presidential ticket.”
