Niger police rescue 2 kidnapped girls

Two girls abducted by kidnappers in Shiroro local government of Niger state have been rescued by the police, the command Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Sunday Peter has said,
Peter stated this yesterday in a statement adding that a 35 years old man identified as Sule Danjuma was killed in Zazzago village in Munya local government in another kidnapping operation.
He stated that the command has deployed its operatives into the bush around the area to rescue others abducted by the hoodlums and to dislodge the criminals from the area.
“Meanwhile, we have deployed plain clothes operatives and uniformed policemen to work round the clock to enable us rescue those in the custody of the abductors, arrest the hoodlums and bring them to book,” he said.
Peter said the reported cases of kidnapping in Kabulu area of Munya had not been officially reported to the police, adding that senior police officers were in the area to verify the report, “but no one came up with useful information.”
He solicited for useful information from the public to enable the police flush out the hoodlums, adding that the state “cannot be safe havens for kidnappers and criminal elements.”
