Niger okays review of retired HoS, Perm Secs’ allowances 


Chairman, Association of Retired Niger State Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, Alhaji Muhammed Aliyu Madugu, has confirmed that the association has secured the approval from the state government for the inclusion of its members in the consequential upward review of their salaries and allowances.

This was contained in a communiqué issued, Wednesday, by the drafting committee chairman, Dr Mohammed Kadir Danasabe at the 2023 annual general meeting of the association held in Minna.

The chairman said, “We commend the  Niger state governor, Mohammed Umar Bago for appointing some of its members into various executive positions in the state. We therefore call on the appointees to reciprocate the gesture by living up to expectations.”

He implored the members with political appointments to ensure that they use their respective offices to improve the living standards of citizens. 

Madugu said five members of the association died within the year while twelve others who retired from service were officially introduced as new members of the association.

He solicited for the support of members of the association for to achieve more successes saying that his team will deliver on its promises.

Thirteen executive members were returned unopposed. Alhaji Muhammad Aliyu Madugu emerged as the chairman while Muhammad Sani Barde became secretary.

Other executives include Princes Rachel Yisa; vice chairman, Muhammad Zungai Bawa; financial secretary; and Ndagi Usman Wali,  legal adviser.
