Niger: Idris commissions legacy projects, connects Malagi village to national grid 

 

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, weekend commissioned legacy projects in Malagi village of Gbako local government of Niger state. 

The projects included electrification project which now connects the village to national grid and it was inaugurated by the state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago.

It also included a mosque, Islamiyya school and solar powered boreholes. 

Addressing the people of Malagi community, Governor Bago described the projects as unprecedented and life changing, for the people.

He said, “I commend the minister for his efforts which are complementary to the state government, and I call on other political office holders to emulate the minister.”

The governor harped on the need for the people to unite, adding that unity is a strong pillar for growth and development of any society.

He promised to construct a rice processing factory and a cattle market in Malagi, while reassuring the people of more dividends of democracy in the community.

Bago also promised to upgrade the primary school in the village to Junior Secondary School.

Earlier in a remark, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the gesture is aimed at improving the lives of the people and connect them to the wider world.

He said, “I urged the people to be patient with the present administration, as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is initiating policies that will be beneficial to them.”

The minister also enjoined the youth to remain law-abiding, and acquire skills that will make them self-reliant and contribute to nation-building.

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, applauded the minister for executing such projects that would last for generations, pointing out that he has written his name in the history book of Malagi.

Director-General of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of other agencies under the Ministry of Information, said they are proud of the remarkable and unmatched achievements of the minister.
