Niger gov visits TETFund

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has commended the Niger state government for its ability to access intervention funds for its tertiary institutions.
Executive secretary of the Fund, Professor Sulieman Bogoro the state owned tertiary institutions were among the institutions that had not compromised with intervention funds.
Bogoro said when the state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Fund, that the state would have done more if the government had understood “how TETFund operates”.
He said the state governor had been given the performance level of projects in the state, adding that disparity in some of the indices in intervention had also been explained.

Responding, the governor confirmed he had met with Bogoro in his office and that some things he did not understand, had also been explained to him, stressing that he would return after meeting with his state executive.
Bello said he would not blame TETFund for the disparity, adding that the records would be put straight before his return, adding that there were problems in the college of education, which he would like to be solved.
“This meeting has afforded me the opportunity to know how TETFund operates and I commend Bolgoro for the good job he has been doing to tertiary institutions all over the country.
When we come back, we would make a request and I wished it would be treated quickly”, Bello said.
