Niger gives matching order to contractors

Niger state government has ordered contractors handling ongoing projects in the state to complete them at the stipulated periods or face the risk of revocation.
A statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant (Press Matters) in the SSG Office, Musa Umar Bologi, said the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Saidu Ndako Idris Kpaki, stated this yesterday during an inspection tour of Neo-Natal and

Maternal Clinic and presentation of three Toyota Hilux vehicles to the supervising ministries of the projects.
He charged the contractor of the project, Mutual Commitment Limited, to ensure the completion of the projects before the stipulated period of October 1, this year, adding that October 1, had been fixed for the commission of the project by Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu.
The SSG said the vehicles were meant for projects supervision by the Ministries of Health, Works, and the Directorate of Public-Private Partnership, stressing that the involvement of the Ministries and the Directorate was to ensure quality work and speedy completion of the project.

He charged the recipient of the vehicles to ensure their proper utilisation for the purpose they are meant for.
Responding, shortly after receiving the vehicles, the Director General, Public-Private Partnership, Muhammed Shehu Kudu, assured the SSG that the firm would leave above board by completing the project on schedule.
He said when the project was completed, the issue of maternal and mortality would be a thing of the past in the state as the present administration’s was striving to meet health-related MDGs.
