A non-governmental organisation, Brace Health Care Initiative, has targeted 200 people for medical outreach in Karu FCT.
The leader of the team, a public health analyst, Onyekachi Nwate Eze, made this known this weekend during an interview with Blueprint in Abuja.
She added that the aim of the medical outreach is to bring health care to the grass root, bring regular drugs and do basic testing like Malaria, urinalysis and blood sugar.
Eze said a lot of Nigerians don’t check their blood pressure and that is why they slump and die and people will say a lot of things such as that they were killed without knowing that the person did not check his or her blood pressure.
She added that even with the testing they have done, some people’s blood pressure has risen to 184 and some, their sugar level is 24 which is very high and the doctor immediately prescribes drugs and also speaks to them about good health.
