NFF commiserates with FIFA, AFA on Grondona’s death

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has commiserated with the world football governing body, FIFA, and the Argentina Football Association (AFA) on the death of FIFA senior vice president, Mr. Julio Humberto Grondona.
In separate letters addressed to the secretary general of FIFA and secretary general of the AFA, NFF general secretary, Barr. Musa Amadu, they hailed the immense contributions of the Argentine to world football which spanned nearly five decades.
“Although Mr. Grondona died at the age of 82, his contributions to world football even at that ripe age was much valued by persons and institutions across the four corners of the globe, and the global football family is certain to miss dearly, his wisdom, energy, rare dedication and diligence in service of the beautiful game.
“The Nigeria football fraternity has wonderful memories of the late Mr. Grondona, from his priceless advice to his physical presence in our country during the organization of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Finals in 1999 and the FIFA U-17 World Cup finals 10 years later,” Amadu wrote.
