He said: “It lies within our powers to refresh and renew in words and deeds, our bonds as “ideology comrades”, leaders of today and hope of tomorrow, set the tone and an example for the rebuilding of our bonds of friendship and brotherhood across the Nigerian nation.

The statement in part reads: “We believe that the coming years will be decisive regarding the core objective of NYCN. For some years, the council have been faced with many tribulations, dogged comrades and cadre has faced different assault from different quarters aiming at high jacking the leadership structure of the Youth Council for personal gains.

“However the leadership of the Council under the visionary leadership of Amb. Sukubo Saraigbe Sukubo is resolute and determined, as a matter of fact, we made steady progress in improving the operations of the council by being partners in progress to the government, facilitating employment, scholarships and other benefits to vast Nigeria Youth.

“Our leadership in conjunction with Belemaoil Nig Ltd gave scholarship award to over one thousand Youths (1000) across the country, job opportunities were facilitated for Nigeria youths across the 109 senatorial districts of the federation, entrepreneurial empowerment funds were facilitated for hundreds of youths and quality adequate representation of Nigeria youth within and outside the country.

“As part of our renewal efforts and to give hope to Nigeria Youths we have started the process of resuscitating the moribund ideologies of the Council, in line withdrawn work plan for the activities of the Council.  This is in fulfilment of our electoral promise to sustain and resuscitate the core values of NYCN as the apex representatives of Nigerian Youths.

“In all of these, we must not lose the sight of our core responsibility of the council as a training ground and our obligation to promote, protect and uphold the interest of Nigeria Youth and Nigerians at large. As youths, we are the conscience of the country and critical responsibility rest on our shoulders. In the further renewal of hopes of Nigerians this year, our leadership restate on our pledges to organize the council and present to you a council you can all be proud of.  In succeeding days, we would announce our planned programs and activities for the year.

“While appreciating the effort of President Muhammed Buhari thus far, we appeal to him to further utilize the talent and skills of Nigeria youths by creating more employment jobs and enabling environment for entrepreneurship to sail. Nigeria witness high rate of youth involvement in criminalities due to high rate of unemployment and low regards for entrepreneurial skills.

“In conclusion, we must thank all our members, from the depths of our heart, for the overwhelming and thunderous support that we, the National Officers, have consistently received from you, right from the beginning of our tenure.  In our moments of trials and tribulations, you have stood stoutly with, by and for us continually affirming your trust and confidence in our leadership.  Your trust and confidence in the Amb Sukubo Saraigbe Sukubo led EXCO is not misplaced and will not be betrayed howsoever”.
