The amnesty programme initiated by the federal government received a boost at the weekend in Ondo as some militia handed over hundreds dangerous weapons at the Arogbo City Academy field.

According to the group’s commander, General Bowei Felix Kakaduku, they all made up their mind to co- operate with the decision of federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the state.

Kakaduku urged governments at the federal and state levels to give room for equity and justice in attending to the repentant so as not to sideline any one.

He urged other militia who might be doubting government’s sincerity to embrace the gesture and give peace a chance.

The camps that submitted their weapons and pledged their allegiance to government are Seimo Osain, Iroko, Binimobiyoumo, Kuru and Ilelebou camps.

The weapons submitted d dynamites, artillery bullets, automatic pump action, foreign and local bombs, GPNG and many more.

Some government delegates who received the militia and the weapons included the Commissioner for Lands, Mr. Donald Ojogo, who also doubled as the chairman organising committee of the Amnesty programme and other government functionaries.
