New deans for Kaduna COE inaugurated

Newly elected deans of schools, Kaduna state College of Education, Gidan Waya, have been inaugurated. Addressing staff recently during the inauguration ceremony, the Administrator, Professor Emmanuel Joseph Chom, urged them to be prepared to take decisions that would move the college to the next level of development. Chom urged them to carry all staff under them along and to be fair to them in the discharge of their responsibilities, devoid of social, ethnic or religious bias, Th e administrator, however, challenged staff to go for further studies and obtain higher degrees to better the educational standard of the college.

Responding on behalf of other elected deans, the Dean, Early Childhood and Child Education/Primary Education Department, Mr. Jatau Markus Ericson, assured that they will bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities. Th e new deans were Mr. Markus Jatau Ericson- Chairman of Deans/Dean School of Early Child Care Education/Primary Education; Mrs. Anna Sarki – School of General Studies; Mr. Wakili Angulu – Dean School of Secondary Education, Science Programme and Dr. Mrs Victoria Leo Gambo – Dean School of Secondary Education, Languages Programme. Others are Mr. Basuwa Aroster – Dean School of Secondary Education, Arts and Science Programmes, and Mrs. Doshiya Barwa – Dean School of Secondary Education, Vocational and technical Education Programmes. In another development, the Administrator, Professor Emmanuel Joseph Chom, has condoled with the family of Mr. Joseph Gajere over the demise of the immediate past Provost of the College, Mrs. Hope Joseph Gajere, whose death was announced in the early hours of Tuesday last week, after a protracted illness. Speaking at the family compound at Garaje, Kafanchan, Prof. Chom described death as “an unavoidable exit” for every mortal.
