NERC appoints Kaduna Electric MD into strategic advisory panel 



The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC has approved the appointment of Dr. Umar Hashidu, the Managing Director/CEO of Kaduna Electric into the Initial Stakeholders Advisory Panel (ISAP).


A statement signed by the deputy managing director of Kaduna Electric, Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed, stated that the ISAP, which is made up of seasoned technocrats, energy experts and professionals will serve as the “think tank”  as well as highest consultative and policy advisory  body in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.


Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed stated further that , “the ISAP which has a three year tenure will focus on addressing critical challenges in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, including regular reviews of the market rules and grid codes as well as advising NERC on technical issues relating to the operations of the electricity market.”


He described the appointment of Dr. Hashidu into the revered and highly strategic panel as an attestation of the strategic position of Kaduna Electric as a leading player in the nation’s electricity market and an affirmation of the commission’s approval of the sterling leadership qualities of the Kaduna Electric’s Managing Director/CEO.

“The prestigious appointment by Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission is a testament to our Managing Director/CEO’s expertise, leadership and contribution to the industry.
