NDE partners NYCN to train 3700 youths

The National Directorate of Employment is to partner with the National Youths Council of Nigeria to train about 3700 youths in 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

Nasir Ladan Mohammed, who disclosed this when the president of the National Youths Council of Nige- ria, Comrade Bello Bala Shagari led other leaders of the group on courtesy call, said 100 youths would be trained in each of the 36 states and Abuja.
“We are ready to partner with any group as far unemployment is concerned in this country.
As such we are going to train about 100 youths each from the 36 states and the FCT, making it about 3700.
So I urge you to send their names to us, because it would be 70 per cent cosmetology.
“We are going to train for you and we are also going to settle them for you.
This is because we will make sure unemployment is reduced in the country,” he said.
Ladan also said the NDE was also working in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria to raise N17.7 billion to be given out as loans to small scale business owners who can access up to N3 million in what he termed the 50 under 35 project.
He said the project is targeted at taking 50 persons who are under 35 years old with existing businesses from each of the 109 Senatorial dis- trict, adding that those to benefit must have existing businesses.
In all he said, the NDE has been able to create 308,000 jobs within the last one and half year and asked the youth leaders to mobilise other youths from across the country to actively participate in the forth coming elections.
