NDE disburses agric loan to 19 beneficiaries in Kano 

 

The Director General National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Malam Abubakar Nuhu  Fikpo has described agricultural development  as a major catalyst for the promotion of  sustainable economic growth. 

Speaking at the occasion for the disbursement of  of loan to the beneficiaries of the 2023 sustainable agricultural development and empowerment scheme held in Kano, Wednesday, Fikpo said the Directorate has over the years vigorously pursued its mandate through series of employment initiatives aimed at reducing unemployment in the country. 

Fikpo, who was represented by tje Acting coordinator of the Directorate in Kano Malam Abubakar Nasir Isa however stated that  the rural  Employment   promotion department through the strategy of training in modern agricultural skills and gpvernmr t in agric business engagements is one of the core programmes department saddled with the responsibility of generating employment opportunities. 

In his remarks, the Director  Rural  Employment Promotion Department of  the NDE, Mr Edem Duke said under the scheme,  208 NDE trained graduates who had been documented and verified would be engaged in 12 states of the federation with the sum of  N100, 000 to start business. 

Duke, who was represented by an official of the Directorate, Mr Joshua Fagbemi, said embracing the scheme would be the best way of reciprocating the gesture as it was conceived to bring succour to the unemployed.
