NDDC-powered solar street light to flood Imo communities

Imo state representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu, has said some deserving communities in the state would soon be supplied with NDDC solar powered street lights even as many communities have started benefitting from it.

At Area M Word Bank Housing Estate, Owerri, the state capital, all adjoining roads to the Eastwayz Daily market and the market itself have been illuminated with NDDC solar lights, thus making it possible for motorists and cyclists to ply the roads without bumping into portholes at night.

This development has made commercial cyclists plying the routes to stay late nights looking for passengers to take home.

In other rural communities, the story is the same as everywhere is being illuminated. For example, in Umuduruojije, Umueze Ogwa in Mbaitoli LGA, one could easily sight NDDC powered street lights mounted all over, thus making rural dwellers stay outside at night, telling stoies.

The benefiting communities have been heaping praises on the NDDC commissioner, urging him to do more.
