NCYP hails Tinubu for revitalising forest guard, assures support

The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) has applauded President Bola Tinubu for staying true to his campaign promise of revitalising the Forest Guard as a strategic measure to secure our forests from violent groups.

The commendation was contained in a statement issued by NCYP Chairman Isaac Abrak.

The statement reads, “This commendable move demonstrates not only the President’s commitment to his electoral pledges but also his deep compassion for the recent surge in insecurity across the country.

“The NCYP acknowledges the President’s swift response to the alarming incidents, including the tragic loss of over 200 lives in a gunmen attack in Plateau State, the kidnapping incidents along the Kaduna-Abuja highway, and various other security challenges in different parts of the nation.

“The President’s resolute stance was unmistakably conveyed during the meeting with governors last Friday, where he reassured the nation of his dedication to restoring peace and security.

“We, as the NCYP, particularly commend the President for extending his fight against insecurity with the establishment of the Marine Police and Solid Minerals Police. This strategic expansion signals the government’s comprehensive approach to tackle various facets of insecurity, including oil theft, militancy, and violence aimed at disrupting governance and displacing communities situated on valuable mineral resources.

“The President’s proactive measures underscore a new era in national security, putting potential troublemakers on notice that there is a new sheriff in town. The NCYP firmly believes that the days of oil theft, militancy, and violence for the sake of exploiting our natural resources are over.

“With the Forest Guard initiative and the establishment of specialised police units, the NCYP sees this as the beginning of the end of insecurity in Nigeria. We are now eager to witness the President’s words transform into concrete actions in the shortest time possible. As usual, the NCYP is committed to contributing its quota by providing recommendations that align with our collective goal of ensuring a secure and peaceful country, fostering growth and development.

“We are optimistic that these initiatives will pave the way for a safer Nigeria, and we stand ready to support the government’s efforts in achieving lasting security and prosperity for all.”
