Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara, has said that the Commission had made adequate preparations to ensure a transparent online medical examination.

A statement from the Commission’s media unit in Abuja said he disclosed this during the online examination for the selection of doctors, nurses pharmacists and laboratory scientists for the 2015 pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Rome and Greece at the JAMB Computer Base Test Centre Bwari, Abuja.

He said it was the Commission’s hope that the medical online examination would ensure the development of a credible system to get the best medical personnel for the yearly pilgrimage exercises.
He said in the statement that “medical personnel can only be disqualified when they fail the medical exam; hence, the need to put in place a system that guarantees each candidate equal opportunity to pass or fail is best as it is based on their efforts.”
The NCPC boss said “this is the first time the Commission is organising the online medical exam and it is a legacy his administration hopes to leave behind.”

Opara encouraged all candidates to give their best as they write the exams and wished them success.
Director, Psychometrics Exams, JAMB, Mr. Kunmi Popoola, while addressing the press, said the best assessment techniques would be used in conducting the exams to ensure transparency.
He said the results would be known immediately after the exams and candidates would know if they were successful or not “as the results will be reliable and credible.”
A total of 1, 300 candidates sat for the exams across the six geopolitical zones in the country and those who passed would be the medical personnel “for this year’s pilgrimage exercise.”
