Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Garki Branch has called on security agencies to investigate the alleged threat to the life of an Abuja based lawyer, Chioma Unini.
Chairman of the Branch, Obioma Ezenwobodo, made the call in a statement signed in Abuja over the weekend.
According to the chairman, the lawyer who is the founder and publisher of a news blog – NigeriaLawyer has been receiving series of threat messages over her objective news reportage.
He noted that the act negates the principle of free press and expression as guaranteed by section 39(1) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
Ezenwobodo added that it would be in the interest of Justice to bring the culprits behind the ugly trend to book.
