National Commission for Refugees distributes relief items in Nasarawa

The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has donated food and non- food items to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Lafia, Nasarawa state capital.

The national commissioner of the commission, Aliyu Tijjani Ahmed, made the presentation at the government house Lafia on Friday.

He said the commission is doing everything humanly possible to reintegrate all persons of concern in the zone.

The welfare kits comprised of food stuffs, clothing toiletries, dates and other essentials items.

Tijjani reiterated the commission’s dedication to addressing the pressing needs of IDPs.

He said no one regardless of age or vulnarable should be left without vital support

He commiserate with all those who have lost their families, homes and sources of livelihood occasioned by banditry, natural disasters as a result of climate change and other forms of disaster.

“Government under the amiable leadership of Abdullahi A. Sule and the Commission have not forgotten you. We shall stand with you through thick and thin until your livelihood is fully restored in a dignified manner,” he said.

The National Commissioner also sought for a stronger collaboration between the commission and the Nasarawa state government through open dialogue with governor Abdullahi Sule and his team for the betterment of the people.

Tijjani said that the Commission is establishing skills acquisition centre’s across the six geopolitical zones in the country in tune with its Skills-2-Wealth Strategic Initiative.

He said the commission has so far built six resettlement cities in Kano, Borno, Katsina, Zamfara, Edo and Nasarawa states for our Persons of Concerns (PoCs).

Speakimg, governor Sule of appreciated the efforts of the commission by providing support to vulnerable groups.
