The Amalgamated Southern Nigeria Youths Forum on Thursday in Abuja took up its Northern counterpart, the Arewa Youth Assembly on alleged support for Senator Natasha Akpoti – Uduaghan by calling on the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio to resign.
In a press statement addressed by its President, Hon Oleh Victor, the Southern Youth group alleged that Natasha was used as a smokescreen to remove Akpabio from office through frivolous allegations.
He said : “We stand by the Senate president, His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio. The Plan to Remove Akpabio from office as Senate president by some people through False allegation of sexual harassment has failed and dead on arrival.
“We have seen very clearly that the plan to remove the Senate president is an agenda by some power mongers that was handed down to sen Natasha to execute but they have failed woefully as the wrongly planned sexual harassment accusation is now dead on arrival.
“One can see very clearly that what ordinarily should have been the affairs of the Senate has become affairs of some members of Arewa Youth Assembly to dictate to the Senate on what to do which to us , is laughable.
“We, the Amalgamated Southern Nigeria youths Forum, hereby send strong warnings to the Arewa Youth Assembly and Senator Natasha to stop harassing our leader and mentor, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
“They said they shall block the roads for movements of good and people. We hereby reply to them that we have more capacity than they do. We have the oil and gas that drive the Nigeria economy.
“We, the entire youth from Sothern Nigetia, hereby say that you can not have 5 LNG Plants in kgi state without giving any to the Niger Delta.
“You must consider the proximity to the source of raw material in exterblishement of industry. It is not Sen Akpabio that is saying this but the entire people from Niger Delta through Pandef the Apex socio-political body of the Niger Delta, the South South Geo-political zone”.
