The Senate and House of Representatives have promised to make their contribution to ensure the reconstruction of Mallam Abdulkarim Juma’at Zaria which collapsed 2 years ago.
It is hoped that it would be completed within the stipulated period of 18 Months.
The Speaker House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, stated this at the groundbreaking of the mosque held in Zaria Sunday.
He stated that it was initially built in 1804 and that when reconstructed, would be the biggest mosque not only in the Zazzau Emirate or Kaduna state, but in the country.
Dr Tajudeen said although contributions were received from well- meaning Nigerians within the emirate and beyond, what was discovered was that committee money only cover between 50% and 60% completion of the mosque.
