NASCO Group of Companies has re-launched and unveiled one of its cereal products, the new cornflakes.
Speaking at the ceremony of the product’s formal re-launch and unveiling, the chairman and CEO of Nasco Group, Dr. Attia Nasreddin said the event was public presentation of “new look Nasco cornflakes range”. Nasreddin explained that this expansionist innovative response to market sensibilities is not just to keep pace with industry competition and global trend, but in keeping with the organisation’s founding aspiration to “grow a company that will provide the quality life to our growing population”.
With the first Nasco cornflakes product introduced into the Nigerian market as the first indigenous cornflakes breakfast cereal brand thirty years ago, Nasreddin said since then the product has under gone three life cycles and re-branding processes, and has “continued to use top quality grains to produce quality cereal brand from generation to generation”.
Describing the development as a “result of hardwork, dedication, and focus shown by the staff”, Nascon marketing officer, Nasir Khan, announced on the occasion that “in the month of September 2015, Nasco
range of cornflakes, which include all the variants (original, banana, vanilla, strawberry and frosty) was endorsed by the nutrition Society of Nigeria as a ready-to-eat cereal meal enriched with vitamins and minerals”.
President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, Dr Frank Udemba Jacobs, commended the management of Nasco Group for the epochal break through especially at “a period when many manufacturing companies are finding it difficult to remain afloat”. The MAN President said further that “this feat reflects the quality of the management; and is indicative of a deep-rooted foresight and strategic planning by the company despite the numerous challenges manufacturers are going through”.
Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong, represented by the permanent secretary, ministry of commerce and industry, Thomas Chollom, described the event as apt moment for Nasco to “communicate the authenticated nutritional and dietary benefits to the consumers of Nasco cornflakes”.
